SUBJECT: Crisis in the Water System
PURPOSE: To elect a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and 2 board members
WHY: In order to avoid shutdown of the Water System due to mechanical failure and/or financial insolvency. NOTE: No disbursement of funds can take place or decisions made until
officers have been elected. The Officers and Board Members will then be authorized to
1. Manage the LH Water System and
2. Begin developing plans to augment revenue to meet our expenses.
BACKGROUND: President Rudy Pacheco passed away on June 23, 2014. After serving for 11 years as Treasurer, Heather Ginn is terminating her services as soon as possible.
THE CRISIS: The Water System has less than $2000.00 in the bank. Further, Nine Las Haciendas Home Owners have not paid past water bills of over $13,000. At this time we do not have money to pay monthly expenses and bills we incur to meet State requirements such as the Consumer Confidence Report, water testing, meter readings and Consumption Tax.
In addition, you should be aware that if equipment failures occur, routine bills are not paid and State inspection services are not performed--any of these can and will cause the shutdown of the two wells of the Las Haciendas Water System. AND THOSE PROPERTIES THAT DO NOT HAVE PRIVATE WATER WELLS WILL BE FORCED TO OBTAIN WATER ELSEWHERE.
The crisis affects every property owner present or absent. Las Haciendas Water is our most valuable resource. If "We" cannot provide water to our homes, property values will drop, renters will move, homes cannot be sold and the Las Haciendas area will deteriorate.
